Happy Easter!!

Well, Easter was awesome today! The kids LOVED their Easter baskets, and we had a wonderful time with my mom, my sister, and her family. The kids love playing with their cousins. Of course the food was really good too! This year my mom bought the ham and baked beans, and my husband and I cooked everything and hosted at our house. We had ham, cheesie potatoes, corn casserole, baked beans, and rolls. And, my sister brought banana cream pie and homemade butter cut out cookies. Everything was delicious! I hope everyone had a wonderful day!

This was Brayden's Easter basket (yes- that IS a Bratz doll you see. He is STILL my little girlie man!

Fun at the park

Today we took the kids to the park. They needed to burn off some energy!! They are sooo super excited about Easter that they were bouncing off the walls here at home and driving us NUTS! So, we had a great time at the park, while it lasted (got kinda cold). Then we went and got some ice cream after that. It was another fun day spent with my family!

Easter Eggs

Since my kids are on Spring Break, I decided to take a few days vacation from work this week and spend some time with them. I took off yesterday and today. Yesterday, I spent most of the day shopping for their Easter baskets. Let's just say I found what I was looking for, and then some!! I hit the jackpot at Gymboree and The Children's Place. They were practically giving the stuff away! I couldn't resist! Today, me and the kids colored Easter Eggs. The kids were soooo excited to color eggs...they've been talking about it all week. So, first thing this morning (and I mean first thing), Brayden was already begging me to color eggs. So we did it this morning. They turned out pretty cute!

After coloring eggs, we all got cleaned up and went grocery shopping together. John is off today because it's Good Friday, so it's been fun having "family time" today! Later, we're all gonna watch Marley & Me together. The kids and I have seen it already, but John hasn't. We don't mind watching again. It was a cute movie. Sad, but cute!

Haircuts and such....

Well I've been doing this thing where I'm taking turns letting my nieces and nephews spend a night with us, instead of having all three at once (which is what I used to do, but having all 3 of them, plus my 2= 5 kids in the house, which = CHAOS!) Last weekend was my nephew, Nate's turn. Surprisingly, he had a great time. I thought he'd be bored playing with Avery, but they always found something to do! They either played video games, or played with Nerf guns together, watched TV or played catch. They always found something to do! (Brayden spent the night with Nate's sisters- my nieces, which he loved! Anyone that knows Brayden knows he loves the girly stuff!)

Tonight, Avery got her haircut. She goes to the same stylist as I do, and after Bri cut Avery's hair, she asked Avery if she wanted her hair styled. Avery said, "Sure". So, Bri styled it like this. I think it's adorable, and Avery absolutely LOVED it! She wants me to do it like that for Easter. Guess I should have been paying closer attention to HOW Bri was styling it!

FUNNY KID STORY: Later on after the haircut, Avery went along with me to take Brayden to his swimming lesson. We stay there while he has his lesson because it's only a 1/2 hour. While we were sitting there, Avery says to me "Why do people bring their babies to swimming lessons? They're too little." I try to explain to her that actually "they" say that babies can learn to swim...maybe even easier than older kids. Avery says to me, "Where'd you read that? The 'Weekly World Dum Dum'?" I about died laughing!! Of course, if you've seen the movie "Baby Mama", this is a line from that movie. I just can't believe she remembered it, and actually used it on me!! Little stinker!!

Happy Birthday, Lexi!!

Today was my niece, Lexi's 7th birthday! Lexi is the daughter of my husband's brother, Chip. We went to her birthday party today, which took up most of our day, because it's a 2 hour drive each way there! But, totally worth it! We love visiting with Chip and the kids (he has 2- Lexi and Emma who is 4). It was a very fun party! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, so I played "photographer" for Chip. He is coming here in 2 weeks, and will share the photos from the party with me. Then, I can post them. Until then, here are some of my favorite photos of the lovely Alexis (aka Lexi, aka "Birthday Girl")
