Happy Birthday Nim!

Well, actually I'm not certain what Nim's actual birthday was, but he was about 10-12 weeks old when we got him from the pet store, and that was in May, 2008. So, he's about 1 year old now. He's the BEST cat ever! He never does that whiny meowing noise that some cats make, and he's super cuddly! He's a lap cat for sure! He's GREAT with kids. We couldn't have asked for a better pet!

Avery's school has the students bring in pictures of their family pets to be posted on a

wall to "share" with the rest of their fellow students. I made the following for Avery to show off her beloved pet!

Finally....the bathroom is complete!

We finally finished our bathroom! I'm very pleased with how it turned out. I'm sure most of you have a much nicer bathroom, but we have a small house, and of course the bathroom is very small, too! (In fact, it was very difficult getting these pictures because it's sooo small!) So, this is probably the best we're going to get it to look! Unfortunately, I don't have any "before" pictures because my husband tore into it one day when I wasn't home. I was so mad! I told him I wanted to take "before" pictures for comparison. But, let me just say that the "before" was ugly! Here's what we did.....

we replaced the ugly old mirror that was there with this lovely one (that came with the vanity)

We replaced the light fixture with this lovely modern one (the old one was brass and very, very ugly!)

I bought a few new wall decorations, including this lovely wooden thing

And, this other lovely wooden thing

Here is a better picture of the new vanity. I LOVE it. The old one was way ugly!

Also, there had been a very ugly toothbrush holder built into the white section of the tile below the mirror and above the sink. We took that out and replaced the missing tile. Looks much nicer now!

After trying to clean the tile ourselves, we finally gave up and hired professionals!

Now, it looks better than it has in many years!

We also replaced the towel bar. There was a really ugly one built in to the tile. We took that out and replaced a few tiles, then put in this chrome one.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day this year was spent with my 2 wonderful kids! My husband and I both worked overtime today, so unfortunately we didn't get to spend Valentine's Day together. But, my kids and I had a blast together! After I worked 4 hours this morning, we headed off to Chuck E. Cheese! It was sooo fun! I hit the jackpot quite a few times on the Sponge Bob game, which made the kids very happy because I was winning them lots of tickets! Hope you all had a great day, too!

New bathroom vanity!

As some of you may already know, John and I are in the process of a small remodel of our bathroom. Nothing major! We're just re-painting, replacing the old light fixture and bathroom vanity and mirror, and we got a nice new shower head! The paint color we picked is similar to what's in this picture. We're gonna finish it up next weekend, since it's a long weekend for us, with Monday being President's Day. Here is a sneak peek of the bathroom vanity we ordered. I will post before and after pics when we are all done!

Super Bowl

Well, sorry this post is a little late. What a game, huh?? We were soooo disappointed that the Cardinals didn't win, though!! But, we had ourselves a very good time....lots of munchies (you know, the important stuff!) I wasn't that impressed with any of the commercials, but the half time show was pretty good! I mean, who doesn't like Springsteen, right?
