Fun at the Park!

My dad and I took my kids and my sister's kids to the park on Saturday afternoon. My dad packed a picnic lunch and we ate in the shelter house. Then the kids played. They mostly liked feeding and watching the ducks. We also had an unexpected little creature appear while we were watching the ducks. I think it was a muskrat. He crawled up onto the land where we were standing, then he swam a little bit. Later on that night, we went back to my dads, where we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores over a fire. They were yummy! Saturday night after making s'mores over the fire, all the kids came back to my house, where they still are now as I type this! They're playing together watching a Bratz movie on Nickelodeon. Good times!

New Haircuts!

I had made an appointment for Avery with my own hairdresser because, as some of you may know, she had a "bad experience" with her hair awhile back. She had wanted to get a "bob", but didn't want it too short. (As you may remember, her hair was pretty long before she got it cut.) The girl who cut it the last time, well, let's just say she butched it! But, now that it's finally grown back out a little bit, it really was a mess and needed shaped up. I trusted my own hairdresser, Bri, to do the job, as she is really good. Well, she didn't disappoint! She did an awesome job of shaping it up and making it look MUCH better! When we got home from the salon, we discovered that Brayden had also gotten his hair cut today! Our babysitter's friend (and salon owner) Tonya, cuts Brayden's hair for us whenever she notices it's getting too long (and, as long as she can fit him in her schedule). I'm glad she was able to fit him in, as he starts Preschool next week! So, both our kids are stylin' tonight!!

First Day of School!

Avery started back to school today. Boohoo, summer is over!! Avery is in THIRD GRADE now! Hard to believe!! She has the same teacher as last year, so that's good...because she was nice! Brayden will be starting preschool on September 3rd. He met his teacher tonite. She and her assistant came to the house to meet him. He was acting so goofy! I think it was because he was nervous and kind of shy! His teacher is the same teacher Avery had when she went to Preschool there! I was pregnant with Brayden during Avery's last year of preschool. They remember Brayden as a baby and they can hardly believe he is now going to be their student! Time flies! Here is a picture of Avery in her third grade classroom!

 

Family Reunion

Today I went to the Miller-Strausbaugh family reunion. My mom is a Miller. It was nice to see everyone that did show up (unfortunately there weren't too many of them). But, I did get some good pictures of my kids and my sister's kids with my grandpa (my mom's dad).

More from camping weekend

Cedar Point!

Well, we went to Cedar Point again yesterday. This will be the last time this summer. Kind of bittersweet! Feels like the end of the summer is here, and I'm not ready for that yet! I'm enjoying the summer with my kids! But, I also love the holidays, and they will be here before we know it! That gives me something to look forward to! We had a good time at Cedar Point, for the most part! As usual, Brayden had a few meltdowns! But, he got through them and we ended our day there on a good note. We were all pretty beat by the time we got home! I think all of us crashed for the rest of the night! I only got a few pictures because the battery on my camera was going dead. I can't believe I didn't charge it before the trip! That's the one thing I forgot to do! Oh well! I still got some video as well, which I'll post later.

Fun Filled Weekend!

John's brother, Chip, came home this weekend. He rented a camper at a local campground and John and I and the kids spent most of Friday and Saturday there with him and his girls, Lexi and Emma. The kids had a GREAT time! They loved it there. There was so much for them to do. They mostly swam in the pond, and then played on the huge playground there. It really was a fun weekend. I am sad that it's over already!

School Clothes Shopping!

I took the kids school clothes shopping yesterday. We got lots of cute things at my fave store for kids, The Children's Place. Avery also really liked this other store that is just for girls, called Justice. They had some really cute things there, too. And, although we were really only in the market for school clothes, I let her get a really pretty tank top there that was on sale. I told her she could wear it to Cedar Point. Yes, we are going back to Cedar Point on Sunday! Anyways, we found lots of nice things for school. The kids wanted to try on a few of their faves. I snapped a few pics to show off.
